I Guess I’ve Already Lost You

I guess I’ve already lost you
Lost all the love untold
All the memories unfurled.
They are now buried
Under the shadow of a fireweed.
I guess I’ve already lost
The great things about you
Your sweet voice,
Your calming touch
Even your dreams that are huge,
They are now frozen
Underneath the Alaskan Mountain range.
I guess I’ve already lost you
And the poems we wrote
The songs we shared
And the books and movies we hoard.
They are now hidden
At the camp where our hopes were once portrayed.
Our world has now crumpled,
It is no longer ours to control
It is no longer ours to enjoy
Left my emotions sealed and destroyed.
As much as I wanted you to be close to me,
As much as I wanted us to pursue our dreams
And keep writing our stories together
You just keep pushing me away
As if I was not once the one
you have always wanted to stay.
