I Am Nothing

Aphrodite Little 2006 (Colorado)

I am nothing.
An artist with an absence of ability,
and a detrimental determination drought.

I am nothing.
A previous poet,
who successfully extirpated any soaring expectations.

I am nothing.
A vast void plays substitute to my stomach,
which is stuck doing cartwheels,
leaving me sick.

I am nothing.
A paltry plaything
for remorseless men.
A breathing, bleeding heart,
being only beaten and battered.

I am nothing.
An insufferable instigator,
born a burden,
and driven by disappointment.

So tonight,
tonight I'll just imagine.
I'll imagine a conflicting creation.
a world in which my capabilities are countless.
Where my words carry,
where I can communicate
all that I am
and all that they cant understand.

About this poem

I very recently lost a lot of written poems, when the file was corrupted. This is me grieving those lost words.
