We start this life with a cry

We start life with a cry
and end it with a sigh
as with our closing breath
we enter into death
bidding this world goodbye
our soul then soars so high
to meet with our maker
The Lord our Creator.

I'm so glad that I know
that when it's time to go
Jesus will walk with me
through death's dark valley
and together we'll soar
to that heavenly shore
and I'll not be alone
standing at God's throne.
