Heaven's Might

The blackened earth like a blanket lay,
Upon a body lowered from birth,
And atop its grave the ravens play,
The scent of death, a vulture's mirth.

The standing trees in the breeze still sway,
And among this corpse persists the sound,
Of a beating heart, death has yet to slay,
The might of life from heaven’s ground.

In all your poems, I see pain from the loss of a child. In this one I read hope, for though the body is buried and the world goes on, the heart of the corpse still beats in Heaven. I pray you keep this hope. We will see them again some day. It does get easier to bear.
