Sonnet I: Can’t Seem to Remember

K.T. Brown 1990 (Greenwood, SC)

It’s been a while since I have written a poem.
I am focused on a dream yet coming.
I seem not to remember what I’ve learned,
Seeking that desire for which I yearn,
My first love is fictional writing,
That true dream that I am desiring.

I know this sonnet sounds a bit too fucked up.
But my rhythmic sound needs a check-up.
It’s like I have amnesia or something.
Where have I left off? Got to get grinding.
I seem to have forgotten my poetry.
Yet it continues like a rotary.
