Remaining a baby

Abel Senemede 1999 (Lagos)

I'm aging,
Nevertheless, I still crawled in your sights;
Sucking on my fingers, and pacifiers, and Crying
The time keeps on clocking,
tick tock but I'll be a vicenarian next tomorrow,
I'll be a grown-up man
But do I still look like a baby in thy sight?
Dear God,
I have killed a grown-up man in my heart
I'm a young offender
And yet you named me juvenile
Will I ever look like a baby:
Ever innocent in thy sight?
Thus I'm grateful for aging in Thy grace

    The thing to see here is: To whom is this really addressed? At times, it seems to God, but also it has hints that it is to someone else.
    Perhaps you would life to offer me some explanation as to how I should read this poem. I can see the poetry in it, but I am talking to the supposed meaning of the lines. Thanks.
