Premonition while it rains

I sit here contented
While it rains
Apartment parking garage
One large ceiling crack
Twenty feet away.
Drip, Drip, Drip.
Been down to London
Seeing Mother…
Gone much of the comprehension
Memory
Physical gusto,
Laughter.
Love of good stories.
Still taking a run
At the old show tunes.
Recollections far back.
Two Danish Aunts
Father Ken, the Vimy Ridge vet.
And Jack, the helpmate.
Died twelve years back.
Good golfing days.
Happy dinners she prepared.
But I suspect that I have just had the
Last Visit, down here.
Yep she’s on her way.
And that’s OK.
