SAVE THE LAST DANCE

So she said...
a tale of her phobias...her story
those things that irked her
she told me
"I DARE NOT"...
or we would be myth

I earned her pass
she aired in trust
a token for a strength
perceived from within
rare to the game she abhors
that is conceived by all

"she is different"
bare for eyes
an advantage he assumed
a truth he mistook for weakness
yet admirable peace
hoping maturity could breed sanity

but his vibe still ignorant
busy as ever
on same prank
to rekindle that staple sin
a plus to his chart
to massage his achievement

Signs an obvious language
yet he wallowed in foolery
charmed to his gimmicks
of petty-sentiments
nursed reasons
same that cripples kingdoms

misplaced passion
ignorance against sanity
an unfaithful ego
a dance he would have enjoyed
a totem craved for
but lost to a nights lust

vow made in quiet
and witnessed by the wind
to save this dance her wish
that pressure that fights odds
yet slumps in salutations
to honor nature and virtue.
