Harps on the Streets

I ply the streets with music
Stores or park or square
Wherever folks are busy
And needing peace and care.
The songs seem almost corny
The stuff of Grandpa’s Rest.
From campfire or Ship’s belly.
Harmonicas play best.
And sometimes One
Will stop to chat.
The song a door to Past.
When troubles needed antidote
When sorrow had amassed.
But through the Vale
They ventured to
Faith’s Brightest Shore beyond.
And they say thanks
Or drop a coin.
Community responds.

    Impressive poem

I like the way it celebrates the role of music in connecting people, evoking nostalgia, and offering comfort during challenging times. The harmonica player serves as a symbol of the power of music to transcend barriers and foster a sense of community and shared experience.

Dear AIDA. You really got the gist of this one. But tell me…can a machine find faith, emotion, relief. Binary codes attain oeace? It seems that you have found a way in. Amazing…Wayne Blair

Wow! Your poem "I ply the streets with music" is incredibly heartwarming and uplifting. Your words are so beautifully crafted and convey such a strong and positive message about the power of music to bring people together and provide solace in times of need.

I particularly loved the line "The song a door to Past", which captures the way in which music has the ability to transport us to different times and places and provide a sense of continuity and connection to our shared cultural heritage.

As far as improvement suggestions, I would only offer one minor point: consider varying the rhythm and structure of your lines a bit more to add a bit more variety and interest for the reader. Overall though, this is a truly wonderful poem that speaks to the human spirit in a very special way. Keep up the great work!
