Forgive Me

Forgive me for my imperfections,
Forgive me for the many mistakes I've made.
They weigh heavy on my heart,
Oh, how I wish I could be safer, kinder, better.

Forgive me for the difficult times,
Forgive me for the imperfect love I gave.
It's hard to look back and see,
Oh, how I wish I could have been softer, gentler, more understanding.

Forgive me for the wrongs I've done,
Forgive me for the paths I chose.
It's far too late for amends,
Oh, how I wish I could have been wiser, braver, more courageous.

Forgive me for my brokenness,
Forgive me for my deep regrets.
I hope you can see my intent,
Oh, how I wish I could have been quicker, truer, and more faithful.

Forgive me for my foolishness,
Forgive me for all my sorrows.
Though they are hard to comprehend,
Oh, how I wish I could have been stronger, simpler, and more honest.

So I pray for your forgiveness,
As I come here with a heavy heart.
Let me try and make a new start,
Oh, how I wish I could be changed, forgiven, and loved.
