REWARD

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

The more that I see, the less I know. Is it life or death, or are both the reward? Anger is controllable, and so is fear; both have ruled my heart over the years. I have traveled many paths to finding this road that has led me to this place that has finally allowed me to forget the past and realize I am a soul, not a body and face.

I lay my head down on this pillow made of stone, knowing that my enemies are getting close, but I need to rest. What is the reward after having so many tests?

Judge me when you can look in the mirror and be proud that you have survived after all you have been through and done. There might be marks of sin on my skin but at last, I got the reward that many can not reach, and I got peace.

You’ve got peace. Good. That is in spite of the fact that you have seen and versified the Mess. In succint, convicting fashion. Good for the Art of Poetry.
