TRUTH

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

You would rather have me dig my grave with cowardly lies than speak the truth of those who would instead remain strong and brave. You have come at me with enemies and friends in every which direction because of the ways of a dying kingdom that I can not help to mention.

The hunger and the fight have always been in my heart, but in my time of reflection, I was listening to my mind. Now that it is trained, I want the truth; I care not to point fingers or take the blame for who I am and who I have become.

I belong here on this road of redemption. The sun, the moon, and the stars light my way as I slowly get stoned, and this walk is my walk alone.

There is no approval needed if there is truth in your soul. You need to search within and not see what it is with other people's eyes. I will spread my wings and fly to the belief that no one no longer seeks.
