save us from heartache
time can be short
life together for years
heartache is our fort

quiet minutes keep hours
silence once stood strong
steps divide empty miles
heartache marks our wrong

spent words burnt ash
gordian knotted sinew spine
thin ribbons weep sorrows
heartache a piercing tine

angst screams in anguish
regrets spill dead wine
love like many pearls
lay cast before swine
 
heartache ever unpleasant
heartache forever unkind
heartache ever silent
heartache forever blind
