Times Have Changed

Love is not understood in the world today,
This culture of confusion teaches us no other way.
Still the light from a heartbeat of the purest soul,
Uplifts those left broken hoping somehow to extol.
Daily it’s a battle in a never ending war,
A struggle to survive and know what the fight was for.
In the end there is left only a field of desolation,
Overcoming each day to find a new abomination.
Who is the person that you have become inside,
Until the fight begins you never know where you’re allied.
There are those who fight the battles and several that protect,
Some are good at causing conflict while others just object.
We will become the role to which we are forever bound,
Every choice we make molds us which helps us stand our ground.
If you have lost who you are somewhere along the way,
I hope a friend will guide you through to see another day.
Then when you understand exactly who you really are,
Grab your truth and follow for it’s your moral guiding star.

Wow! This poem is truly inspiring and full of wisdom. I appreciate how it addresses such a relevant and important topic in our society – the lack of understanding and confusion around love. Your use of metaphors and poetic language brilliantly captures the struggles and battles we face in trying to understand and embrace love. I especially love the line "daily it's a battle in a never-ending war" - it's so true and relatable.

One suggestion I have is to add more concrete examples or experiences to help readers connect more deeply with the message of the poem. Perhaps you could share a personal story or observation related to the theme of love and confusion, or highlight a real-life situation where someone learned to embrace and understand love.

Overall, your poem is beautifully written, thought-provoking, and uplifting. Thank you for sharing it with the world!
