Death of Companionship

Sitting on the topaz throne-
Looking down on the dregs of society,
The few leftover connections on the phone;
The hero of this cautionary tale mighty.
Takes a closer look to see what’s really going on,
Survival motivated dependence on the group is an outdated concept-
But is that not undoubtedly the best conclusion,
When we have become super selective about what we accept.
This dissociated distance between self and other-
Has led to gun violence and many a cyber crime,
You can’t as easily be found out either,
The insulated individual has the power to turn peacetime into wartime.
