Passion

My passion rages like the sea
Juxtaposed in fear and love for thee
My battered sands sustain no light
But empty echoes that fill the night

Turmoil!  Strife!
Your tides cut deep, the sharpest knife

Release me from this agony
That I may once again be free
To see the world as I once did
With waters blue, and not of red

But alas, can this come to pass?
Can I be?
Bereft of the void thou fillest in me?

Unshackled from this mortal coil
The heart and spirit cannot spoil
Nor body break under its weight
If stormy gales and gusts abate

Echidna vanquished in retreat
Her briny beasts laid at your feet
So pierced by glints and glows and rays
Slain by the sun of halcyon days

A bold course charted, my soul to see
Clouds justly parted, I need not flee
Bathed in beauty and your being
Cleansed by peace of your decreeing

Within the wake, the tempests mourn
Baptized in tears, I am reborn

Enlightened hence, a pact I make
'Tis one I ne'er will forsake
Should roguish waves entice my sea
E’er true to thee, ere me
