That strikes you as you pass by
In the spring
Where lovers laugh
Under falling cherry blossoms
Where mother blue jays
Feed their young
Proud to see
Their children
Spreading their wings

But no one dares looks at the beauty of
Winter
A silent beauty
A definition of a dead beauty

White blankets the ground
Numbing to the touch
Quiet surrounds me
Taking me in
Quiet

Beautiful.
Yet despised by many.

They don’t see the trees hanging on to life
Like a human hanging on to the last of their sanity
They don’t see the small daffodils
Thriving
While other plants
Stay coated
Under the colorless drapes

They don’t understand,
The beauty of wintertime
