Jesus Revolution, the film

Pastor is in his upper years
Sundays now coming by rote
By tradition without
Honest power
Honest loving action.
Holy Spirit just a name
At the end of prayers
Or christenings.
Yeah, who is He anyways?
But then attention on the TV
Is drawn to hippies.
Abandoning all constraints
And mandates of The Man.
Love. Song. Travel. Drugs
Yeah drugs big-time.
And proving devilish, deadly
De-humanizing.
Along comes Lennie Frisbee.
Looks like Jesus.
Odd yet calm and affirming.
Wanders with his precious Wife
Talks about the Master
Alive Available Affectionate.
Answering each heart cry.
Unconditionally.
Stuff starts happening.
Numbers start showing up.
Births, baptisms, Brotherhood.
Belief when seemingly
No basis in logic or years’ experience.
The word is Revival.
The effect is Family.
The source is God.

(And one young guy, named Greg Laurie
Hurting from a life disconnected
Starts paying real attention.
Enjoying real living…)

Another great flick with Good News.
