A Lament for Bovine Love: The Demise of Cow Hug Day

Alas! The Animal Welfare Board of India's grand plan,
To celebrate "Cow Hug Day" on Valentine's span,
Has met a premature demise, it seems so sad,
No more bovine embraces on this day so glad.

But fear not, oh lovers of the gentle cows,
For there are other ways to show your vows,
Of affection and admiration, don't be blue,
Just let your creativity and humor come through.

Just think of the Bard himself, good ol' Will,
Whose sonnets celebrated love with such skill,
Or the wit and whimsy of Chaucer's tales,
In which love and laughter intertwine like snails.

Or take a cue from Japan, where Haiku's reign,
Short verses that capture love's sweet refrain,
Or from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms,
A Chinese classic that shows love's many aspects.

So let us not be discouraged by the Board's retreat,
For love and laughter shall not miss a beat,
In the end, it's not the day, nor the embrace,
But the love and joy in our hearts that we trace.

So go ahead, hug a cow, or write a poem,
Sing a love song, or just go play a game,
For love is not confined to a single day,
It's a feeling that brightens life in every way.

And let us not forget, cows deserve love too,
Not just on Valentine's Day, but all year through,
For these gentle creatures, we must stand tall,
And protect them from harm, both big and small.

For cows are more than just sources of milk and meat,
They're creatures with emotions, that can't be beat,
They show love and affection, just like us,
And deserve our respect, not just a hug or fuss.

So, let's not just celebrate cow love on this day,
But work towards their welfare, in every way,
For a world with happy cows, is a world with joy,
A world where love prevails, and all creatures are coy.

So, let us spread love and laughter, far and wide,
For cows and all creatures, let us not hide,
Our love and our kindness, in this world so bright,
And make Cow Hug Day, a day of love and light.

And when Valentine's Day comes around each year,
Let's remember the cows, and spread cheer,
For a world with happy cows, is a world with peace,
A world where love prevails, and all creatures find release.

So let us hold hands, and join in a chorus,
For cows and all creatures, let us give them support us,
For they are an integral part of our world,
And deserve to be treated with kindness, love and care untold.

And as we celebrate this day, with love in our hearts,
Let us not forget, love starts with small parts,
For just like a single hug, can bring happiness so true,
A single act of kindness, can change the world for the better too.

So let us all pledge, to do our bit each day,
For cows and all creatures, let us lead the way,
For a world with happy cows, is a world with love,
And a world with love, is a world sent from above.

So, let us hug cows, and let us spread love,
For all creatures great and small, from up above,
For in this world of ours, let love and kindness reign,
And let Cow Hug Day, be a day of love, joy and peace, refrain.
