Far reaches of the mind

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

There's sometimes a crackling noise in my mind a sort of tuning in in my ear and brain
It seems to be trying my patience
Testing the works all the same
Making it's way in
They call it an upgrade
A kind of devining light
All I know is
It seems to work
As I don't research a single verse
I just hear the calling
I dream more now
Seems its getting more common
As new poets arise everyday
I even think I hear it
I'm not sure what to ask
So I think: It's only spirit
Last night they had many faces
One atop the other
So I decided it must be creator
Then forgot I'd even saw it
Until now
Now the archaic noise echoes once again
Reminding me of an ancient connection
In a lifetime long ago
I'm sure most people have had de ja vu
Then their calling changes
And the creations they pursue
But what of these visions echoes murmurs on the air
I'm really trying to control them
How funny some think
Just tell it to a shrink
But the shrink believes in science
As if science alone was their God
I find it rather odd
Now the proofs so abundantly clear
I guess it's just a case of
Trusting in my own ears
