Worthy Pursuit

Jeffrey Powell 1979 (Pittsburgh, PA)

Should we seek fame and fortune
and lead mesmerizing lives,
all at once, all too often,
the fool's errand arrives.

Why yes, seems we're better served
finding our own heartbeat song,
with the same effort incurred,
we find where we belong.
