BE YOUR GUY

Cornell G. Mack 1955 (Washington DC)

I'm not going to lead you on I'm going to tell you the TRUTH

I not only want to be your friend I want to be your lover TOO

why should I tell a LIE when all I want is to be your GUY?

what I'm talking about is coming from the heart which means so much to ME

and after you think about what I've said it'll be so plain to SEE

I just want to be your GUY I'm not telling you no LIE

when I first saw you I got a feeling that I couldn't EXPLAIN

and as I tried to be your friend it just lead to stronger THINGS

I know you need time to think about what I've SAID
take your time slow your roll I don't want you to be MISLEAD

Come on now give us a TRY these feeling that we share cannot be DENIED

If you don't understand today then maybe TOMORROW
and if not then, then it'll be my SORROW

You only live once, that's what I've been TOLD
you can see it on my face it's only you that I want to HOLD

I just want to be your GUY I can't say it enough TIMES
I'm going to keep shouting it until you decide to be MINE

I'm going to keep it real with you and tell you what I WANT
I don't want to lie to you just to prove my POINT

So many guys today will tell you what they think you want to HEAR

I'm looking for a long-term relationship to show you how much I  really CARE

Hiding things from someone you're supposed to LOVE
what kind of Character does that display?
who are you thinking OF
