I DID MORE FOR YOU

Cornell G. Mack 1955 (Washington DC)

I did more for you in two years than that guy did for you in TEN
If I had met you before he did, you wouldn't have wanted him as a FRIEND

I gave you a thing called RESPECT with him I know you
didn't GET all you got from that guy was him just talking SH*T

No man should talk to his woman in any kind of WAY
It should be precious words that he should want to SAY

A man shouldn't want to talk to his
WOMAN as though she was one of the BOYS
and he shouldn't want to treat her like she was
some childs TOY

When I first met you I told you that I was ALONE
that's why I extended an invitation, for you to visit
me at my HOME

He's going to do this and he's going to do THAT
Does that sound familiar to you that's not RESPECT

I did more for you in a short period of time
then that guy ever COULD I brought out the best
in you just like I knew that I WOULD

When I first saw you I got a feeling that I couldn't EXPLAIN and as I tried to be your friend it just lead to stronger THINGS

I don't have to look and search I now have who I NEED
I didn't have a time limit but it was at Gods SPEED

I did more for you because that's what I wanted to DO
I had it in my mind I had to pursue YOU

You are mine and I am YOURS
we proved that the other night behind closed DOORS

But that's not what it's all about, it plays a big PART
I did what I did for you because you stole my HEART

I knew it was going to happen when it happened
I didn't DISAGREE I put my faith and trust in you
in you, i wanted to BELIEVE

that you wouldn't do anything to harm me and you would put me FIRST
If you would've stayed with him things would've gotten WORST.
