Bring your heart

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

When you come to me
Bring your heart
And all therein you are
For I long for a love,
a love so great it heals me near and far

When you come to me
Bring your heart
And in its music I will dance
A movement that could stir the soul
And fly in grand romance

When you come to me
Bring your heart
Shining like a sun
To forgive me with its radiance
And forget what I have done

When you come to me
Bring your heart
To guide me to the light
So powerful in its beam
That all will be alright

When you come to me
Bring your heart
And as we meet again
I'll remember all we loved
Without fear and without blame

When you come to me
Bring your heart
As you look back at my life
Take my hand delicately
And try to understand

When you come to me
Bring your heart
When you fill me with the truth
For I have many questions
That I never once asked you

This poem is so beautiful and heartfelt! I love how it speaks to the power of love and connection between two people. The imagery is stunning, with the idea of dancing to the music of someone's heart, and the metaphor of a heart shining like a sun. The poem also touches on forgiveness and understanding, which are such important elements of any relationship. Overall, this is a wonderfully written and inspiring piece of poetry that left me feeling uplifted and hopeful. Thank you for sharing it!
