Reckless Amigo

Abby Kesington 1979 (Lagos)

How do I stay calm
Without praying a psalm?
When you gave a frantic call
Grasping and couldn’t breath at all

You hold your chest in distress
And say it’s nothing when I fret
Fully aware it’s triggered by stress
From extreme thrills that’s left you upset.

Tell me how you mask your pain in platitude
And blame the high-altitude
For the constriction of air in your lungs
And pass it off as nothing with a shrug!

Tell me how to remain unperturbed
When you are blindly self absorbed
Bungee jumping, chief among your interests
But gravity pays you with high-interest

Tell me how to watch you zip-line
And keep my heartbeat fine
Tell me how to share your joy of paragliding
While repressing the fear of you colliding
When its Inflatable wings soars your ego
and deflates my libido!

Tell me how you get mad
And leave me awfully sad
When I inquire your safety
You raise a wall to protect your frailty.

Oh! Tell me how not worry,
When you run off in a hurry!
