Awake, enthused, teachable

Douglas Blair 1951 (London)

Wife is breathing soundly in the
Other room.
i’ve been awhile.
Some dishes and clean laundry
Put away.
Noisy January wind
Trying to intimidate.
Up here on eleventh floor.
Today is Harmonica Club
At Rockway Seniors’ Centre.
Ninety minutes Tuesdays.
Increasing list of songs.
Been going last ten weeks.
Folks have been welcoming.
Some very talented.
Matt and Robert bring
Their button accordions.
Nice blend.
Folk stuff, pop stuff.
Not much blues.
Although Phil and Rick are able.
And that kind of sloppy and sad
Rendering has its
Own special purpose.
Watched video yesterday
With Clarence Gatemouth Brown.
This eagerness is great.
To be awake, enthused
Teachable.
The retirement ain’t so bad.
