Broken but in God’s Toolbox

Douglas Blair 1951 (London)

“Your calling.”
How they use the words
To cloud your lust for power.
As if you still remain
Yielded, broke to
Answer God this hour.
His Sovereign Will cares
Not you know
If you place high or low.
He only wants obedience.
When you obey, you know.

(Read John’s Gospel 7: 16, 17)

About this poem

Much of church teaching these days is about vain self-actualization. Referring to same as a Godly calling. Most often it is not. This poem followed right on the heels of another entitled Two Buddies Hobbling. Don’t ask me how or why, or not from me at all…Doug, age 71 and living in Canada., married to Hilary since 1974. Father of Lauren and Jordan. Recently retired from steel factory work.
