Martha’s Vineyard

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

You put on flesh so I could see
That You were just the same as me
Then spoke a word so I might know
Your thoughts are higher than I can go

You told me things I never knew
And everything You said was true!

And now the truth has set me free
You blessed this man so he could see
Now seeing the truth in every matter
I’m blocking out this world’s chatter

The foolish thoughts and speech of men
Goes up to heaven once again
And stays there till the judgment day
When all those things are cast away
