In the Wild

Riaan Smit 1988 (Windhoek)

I was going along my mellow way so I could find a place to play
But all I was left with was so much doubt
So carried on anyways and found myself a simple place
where I could just wet my mouth

gone are those simple days
I don’t need to worry or care
I ain't going nowhere

Because I’m out here in the wild
And I will be here for a while
And I will drink and I will laugh about those stories of the past
And go through the night with my tainted glass of wine
And feel fine

There’s no need to cry about just go ahead and live without it
There’s a world out there, and it's grand
And I’m forget about the words she said and find a place to lay my head
And rest my toes up in the sand

I ain't got a worry or care, I ain't gonna go nowhere
I’m not going nowhere
Because I’m out here in the wild
And I will be here for a while
And I will drink and I will laugh about those stories of the past
And go through the night with my tainted glass of wine
And feel fine
