To our two year old…

Douglas Blair 1951 (London)

Elizabeth.
What if I could see you
Ten years hence.
But now I mean.
Time travel, I mean.
My sand diminishes.
Pop’s does.
I would see your growth.
Beauty.
Blooming womanhood.
Interests to pursue.
Arts or Science
Or Humanities.
Tussles with your folks.
Jordan, Stephanie.
Perhaps a sibling.
Not yet baked.
Tussles with neighbours
Schoolmates.
Might I intervene.
Save a little grievous
Sweat or adrenaline.
Would it be my place?
Messing with God’s
Providence
For at least three of you.
Mom, Dad, Daughter.
I think better
That I stay hands off.
Watching His awesome work.
As close as allowed.
But give me a little hug.
Whisper the name Pop. OK?
