Before I Was Born

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Yea though I walk through the shadow of death
I will fear no evil; its all on my left

I’m standing with you Lord; you’re all that is Right
As I’m looking ahead all I see is your light

A figure that glows like a bright shining sun
You say: Come near to me my beloved one

Let me show you my glory, just as I have planned
Ever since I created the image of man

You’ll no longer be as the dust of the earth
I claimed you as Mine even before your birth
