The Knight of the Day

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Every people, every nation, every tribe and every tongue,
Every knee shall bow the day they see Lord Jesus come!

He’ll be riding on the clouds, His mighty angels by His side;
And with a righteous army; winged creatures they will fly.

Who can stand against them when they’re fighting with His sword?
One puts to flight a thousand with his actions and His word!

And when the powers of darkness flee because they fear the light,
The Righteous One is lifted up the victor of the fight!

Almighty God has triumphed on this day without a night.
And as His faithful children we are precious in His sight.

Try not to close your eyes, but just keep watch as Jesus prays!
The night won’t overcome you once you’ve learned to live this way!
