Thank You Jesus

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The face of a wolf on a butterfly’s wing;
As I’m walking with you what I see is amazing.

The visions and dreams that I cannot describe;
And my place in the scrolls, I’m enjoying the ride.

I’m on my way home now, there’s not much to do.
I’m just riding shotgun and enjoying the view.

Since I tossed you the keys and I said you could drive;
My life is on fire, but I feel more alive.

You burn up the things that I could not destroy.
Like hate and addiction, but you give me the joy.

As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze;
You’re destroying the things that are evil, but saving my soul for your praise!
