Li Po

Li Po

Drink from the empty cup,
filled with abominations
and self-enlightenment.
Journey upstream thru the Three Gorges.
Legend says the world ends there.
Even the sacred mountains have been banished.
Your kingdom is immortal,
as are your bones,
walking on water to the Yangtze River.
There, fall into wine that flows
from the mountains of the Moon.
Tonight, the Moon is a purple grape
crushed for your drunken delight.
Drink from the empty cup,
and drown.
