The Rag Picker

He looks like a beggar
But not a beggar
He doesn’t cry for alms
At the gates of the rich and the poor
He doesn’t notice anything
Except the bin kept at the corners of
Every road broad and narrow
He is more than a Corporation Lorry
Which smells foul
And pollutes the City
During the early and busy hours
Of the sunny day

He has a Sack to sack the city
Yes, he is on a business
A freelancer
Who is satisfied with what he gets!
Yes, it is
Rag picking is far better than begging.

About this poem
