Christmas Miracle

Smita Dey 1982 (North Carolina)

It is December, very cold and windy weather.
Snow was constantly falling like many drops of a feather.

A young boy named Joel lived with his mom and dad. This made him feel very glad.

One day Joel asked his mom “When is Santa coming.”
His mom said “Santa lives at the North Pole and building everyone something”

When the family went out, Joel’s mom saw a man with his   son who looked needy
Joel wanted to go home, but his dad said “We will son, but let's not be greedy.”

That day Joel and his parents decorated the Christmas tree.

They put nice ornaments and colorful lights that looked very pretty.
Outside Joel’s dad put bright colorful lights.
Which looked out of sight.

Joel’s dad looked at him and asked “Why are sad”
Joel said, “because I am bad.”

Joel’s dad said, “You are great like many girls and boys.”
“Santa will come soon and give you wonderful toys.”

The next day Joel wrote what he wanted and pasted it on his snowman.
Then he went to the store with his mother in her van.

As Joel and his mother went to the mall for things to buy.
He saw a toy car and gave a big sigh.

Joel then saw Santa with a kid on his lap.
The kid got a photo with a snap.
As Joel went to Santa and said hi.
He told Santa what he wanted, took his photo, then said goodbye.

Later that night when Joel’s mother told him it was time for bed.
He quickly looked out a window for Santa and found falling snow instead.

As Joel slept, the wind blew high.
The paper he left on the snowman flew up into the sky.

On Christmas Day Joel was jumping with joy.
He got his car and said, “This is my favorite toy.”

A few days later when Joel was playing with his car in the snow.
He saw the same needy guy with his son, who looked at the car and had a big glow.

When Joel saw the look in the boy’s eye.
Joel decided to give him the car and said “Enjoy.”
