My Need

My need is to do what I need to do.
As has been my experience.
Through risks and challenges to face.
With opposition too.
To ignore as if to erase.
Regardless of advice,
In my way not to fear or chase me away.
Until I am no longer able,
To do only what I have known...
For myself done to do what I need,
Leaves me left incapable...
With a wish to want I was still able.
Through risks and challenges to face,
What I had been accustomed to doing.
At a time when I had been much younger.
Dumb and full of anticipation.
And unafraid to be chased away,..
By age or what old folks say.

Or not using common sense.
Which when young makes no sense at all.
That today has slowed me down.
To think before taking risks and chances,
Knowing those impulsive moves...
Done to do when I was much younger,
When time to believe...
Had been mine all the time to find.
Has now found my body and mind,
On the same team agreeing...
Foolishness with an aging blessed to do,
Will one day prove...
Not only stupid to refuse.
But will also make it personally,
Shown to make known...
It is better to live aging gracefully.
Than attempting,
A youth to have had to relive repeatedly.
Rather to sit and reminisce to remember,
There has to be a God to forgive...
Our dumb and pointless stupid ways.
With a testing of age and wisdom to get.
After and not before,
Doing to go through...
Some of the most foolish nonsense.
I prefer these days to refer as crazy B.S.
Us who now can not deny ourselves,
Being...
Well,
Old folks.

Old folks!
Who are seldom if ever seen attempting,
To prove anything to anyone...
Not listening to pay attention.
As if the doing of it,
Makes needed lessons easier to learn them.
And they don't.
Experiencing life to live it,
Is the best teacher anyone ignorant can have.

Since it has been my need these days,
To have been blessed to age.
I will admit,
A kept treasure with benefits.
Although...
Being young, dumb.
And taking chances and risks.
I thank God,
For allowing me then not to comprehend...
Some challenges and obstacles to face,
Would have been better to fear them.
With eliminating time to waste.
Trying to prove to myself,
I was not afraid.
But somehow for whatever the reason,
I did not pass out from fear.
