CHILD RIGHTS

My golden years of magnificient dreams,
of wild adventures and funny screams.

These friends with whom I play day-night
And luring cousins in countless fights.

The caring of my mom and dad,
they feed me curry that seems so bad.

The imaginative world of Mickey Mouse
and a burning desire of a chocolate house.

All these seems so good to me.
The world seems free without any fear.
But wait,
What I see now on the street
similar eyes with tears.

What are you craving for Oh my peer??
Is it food , shelter, or something dear.

So tender age and struggle so hard
May God have mercy in this regard.

Collecting your valuables from the street,
you hope of getting something to eat.

Grade school is your dream so high,
you feel afraid and remain so shy.

You expect someone to hold your hand,
and take you to a wonderland,
where you play and roll and run and slide,
fly high up in a fairy ride.

But presently,
you sweep, clean and strive on road
giving away the golden years of delight
Nearby is a huge billboard
that is crying '*FIGHT FOR CHILD RIGHT*

About this poem

I felt motivated to write this poem seeing small children running on the street and striving for their essentials. It was disheartening to see that their parents made them work at such a tender age.I have written this poem, portraying myself as a child of tender age who is well off.But one day when he see children of his age struggling on the streets being clumsy and bare footed,he feel disheartened.
