Autumn

Aylin 2006 (Bangalore)

The season of mist has arrived,
The leaves have started to wither away,
The trees feeling cold as the faint breeze blows,
The foggy view and the chilly atmosphere making people wish to just cuddle in bed,
The frosty breeze bringing the message of arrival of winter in a few days,
The fragrance of coffee brewing in the coffee shop down the lane,
The delighted look on the people's face as they pass down the street,
The rustling of the leaves on the ground with each gush in the air,
I sit there imagining how it would be to sit on one of the benches with you,
Talking about the days we spent together,
The memories we made, the first time we met and talked and about every possible memory we made together,
How i wish to look at your eyes under the warm days of the sun,
Interlocking your fingers with mine,
People might refer to autumn as the season of sadness,
But they never saw it's beauty,
They never thought that the existence of spring wouldn't be possible without autumn,
The season of love would be incomplete without the season of death,
Autumn gave us a lesson for life everytime it arrived,
Just like the swaying leaf getting still on contact with ground,
Life would turn out even more beautiful everytime we thought that it was the end,
The weather changes and so does situation in your life which is never permanent.

About this poem

This poem shows the beauty of autumn and how a positive phase is incomplete without a negative phase how the existence of the good times is impossible without the existence of bad times and how the bad time teaches us the value of the good time.
