Hope in Jesus

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Please take me from this place O Lord
But let your Word remain
A light and a beacon to this world
For all who want to change

My flesh is my worst enemy
The evil one can’t stand
Because your Holy Sacrifice
Released me from his hand

Lord, I’m sorry now I’ve written
To explain your Holy Word
You see no one ever listens
Until first from you they’ve heard

I may have drawn a few away
From seeking you out first
And you’re the only One, O Lord
Who’ll satisfy their thirst
