Free verse
What the mother did was but to live
She touched your tongue and spoke your life
Her old eyes saw more than the blind
At solutions cost
With a force of life's loan
And a worthy world
Her enduring sympathy never died with her
And her masked pride saved you from many a scoulding
And her pride starves every time you say
"I'm not good enough".
