It Takes Work

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

It takes work.
And countless sleepless nights to prove.
What one does has worth and value.
Done to discover,
Many years after...
A doing they neither deny.
Or attempt to refuse.
The unexpected recognition given.

Leaving naysayers, plagiarists.
And judgement makers behind to believe,
They too can re-create.
What seems to them easy to duplicate.

Yet for the one who awakens each day.
Seeks fresh and unadventured,
Other avenues and other unpaved paths.
To place upon them their way to originate..
Not from books to read..
TV to watch or movies to see..
But with risks to take and chances.
Doing to achieve possibilities.

Although simple enough.
What one explores alone seems easy.
Leaving assumptions to believe,
Something to do has to be easily done.
Without effort to endeavor.
Or blood, sweat and tears to often come.

But this takes work to prove,
What one does has worth and value to know.
If they were not committed.
Loyal and devoted to what they do.
With kept faith to believe,
Something inside of them...
Can not be denied.
And if they even tried...
They could not describe,
What that something is that keeps them...
Driven to succeed without that guaranteed!
Although left they are,
Ultimately feeling happy and satisfied!
Just doing what it is they were born to do.
