Keeping It Peaceful

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

The best peace of mind had to come.
And mysteriously to me.
To earn and keep peaceful to stay.
Is being ignored by those,
Who never experienced it.
And think to believe,
Someone who chooses their peace kept...
To keep as is.
Does it to seek attention to get.
And misses those who live to exist,
On the telling lies.
And gossiping about others.
With a hoping to start,
Confusion, division and conflicts.
Between themselves.
With a doing to feel secure and accepted!
So many are caught up in such nonsense.

Leaving those with a peace of mind,
To have it to finally find...
Hoping what has been found to keep,
Continues to stay valued and ignored!

'You seem not to notice being ignored.'

'I use to be a member,
Of the ACCEPT AND APPROVE ME GROUP.
Then one day,
When minding my own business it happened.'

'What happened?'

'I stopped being concerned,
About who said what.
To do that to him or to her.
After they did something wrong.
No one knows what it was.
Yet...
All over the neighborhood,
People are talking about it.
As if rental space in their heads,
Has been pre-paid.
And I have never met to know or knew,
The relatives claiming to be...
Cousins of mine with nicknames.
But were authorities of my every move.
I did not make to do.

Now...
If I had it any other way,
To know what I have to not expect?
I would be begging to be left alone.'

'LOL...'

'Don't laugh. I am serious.
However...
Life as it is to live it these days.
In itself is a sad joke.
Leaving me no reason to question,
How or why my blessings are received?'

'So...
You feel blessed?'

'I feel honored to be conscious enough,
To know I am aware of God's presence.'
