Marital bliss

Arindam Mukherjee 1969 (Kolkata)

SOME THOUGHTS BY ARINDAM MUKHERJEE
MARITAL BLISS
Oh! It was painful
Pleasantries were hard to come by
Memories taught me cry
Frequency often matched the resonance,
Vibrating me alert
Gains were not spontaneous,
Earned by default.
Manipulated to look good
Just to accommodate the
false sense of security.
So vulnerable, as it was
Always took the wrong foot forward
Desperate little compromises
took precedence over love.
Once the piano gave up
drums took over
and the flute followed.
It was time to think again
To evaluate, to judge
Paranoia never crosses the
Mind of paranoid
It’s the feeling which
affects the other around.
Someone, somewhere looses something
Only the lonely planet survives.
