RICH

SOME THOUGHTS BY ARINDAM MUKHERJEE
RICH
Tramp that sat on the wall
Felt so happy staring at me,
Future never scared him,
Nor the present bothered.
I envy him the most
Sitting in a glossy car
Never so worried before
Rolled in cashless pain
Tantrums of hopes and expectations
Rarely thought of a toast for
Joy and happiness but frustration.
Nights came along with nightmares
And the bed full of thorns
Nothing crossed the mind except
The fragrance of wealth
pity, I could never
sit on that wall and hang my legs
in wisdom.
