Together

Like an eager soldier I stood before you,
warned of the enemy that awaits me,
you armed me with your word.

The enemy smothered me like a blanket,
all while your sharpened word pounded away in my defense,
and the loving defense of your children.

You said, you’d never leave me,
as a child of God I believe your promise.
I know that we’ll do this… your will… together.
