Thunderstorm

I hear the pelting of the rain
Hitting my windows swift with rage
The winds pick up and howl in pain
As the skies get ready to uncage
The loudest sound that spark up the clouds
It is a performance we can’t do without

Curtains flying and flickering lights
Pedestrians rushing to hide from the might
Of Mother Nature’s orchestral percussion
As she puts a halt to all discussion
Heartbeats swelling to her rhythm
As we experience her hedonism

Molto Crescendo to Decrescendo al Niente
An age old yet non-stereotypical debutante
The power, excitement and thrill of the storm
Together as one we breathlessly absorb
For thunder and lightning are not very frightening
When seen as Natures musical enlightening

About this poem

I have always loved a good thunderstorm, the feel of mother natures power and sometimes even had the best sleep through one. This poem is about how to enjoy and view thunderstorms in a different light.

I liked this poem very much. I wonder how many people will think of Bohemian Rhapsody on "not very frightening"
