It was him
It took me moving back to Wyoming,
going back to the place to realize
it wasn't Wyoming that I miss so much.
It was the man I left there.
He was the Rocky mountains.
He was the Yellowstone River on a spring day. He was a hot dry wind blowing
through the pines, sounding like the ocean.
His love was the white snow falling down
on a winters day
making everything else silent.
He was the Wind River canyon,
he was the Big Horns.
He was my heart
and it is him
that I have missed so much.
