Wish I Did It Different

Doing things differently,
I guess some people would.
Life is a roller coaster
You always say,
' You Should'
Good times,
Bad times
You take them all in stride.
Nobody ever said it would be easy,
But I was brought up on pride.
Watching my parents struggle,
And all they sacrificed.
The love and understanding,
That's something
You can never put a price.
Knowing all the pain you caused,
But at the time I didn't care.
That's something,
I wish I could do over
For their tears I would spare.
Nights of wondering,
Why or how
And where did they go wrong.
Never knowing,
It wasn't them
It was the path I chose,
And my will was strong.
The love they have shown,
Has saved me
In ways,
They will never understand.
Just knowing in my heart,
No matter what
They will always,
Reach out their hand.
