The War Within

The day is long; the road is dim; I've traveled off the path again. Why do I constantly fight this war? Follow Jesus Or search this world for something more? I know how this works; I've been here before. If I do as I please, I create a war. It doesn't end well as I've often seen, But the rebel in me longs to be free. I know the only freedom that is real is giving up myself, but the heart is deceitful above all else, And dabbling with what's not meant for me will lead me to hell, not victory. Yet I play this game of Maybe, What if? Hoping to find a place to drift. Somewhere on the in-between, satan owns the fence, as I've clearly seen. Hoping no one catches on, I lean over the edge and struggle on, only to find I have it all wrong. The rebel in me needs to move on and to be removed as I journey along. The more I surrender, my soul finds rest; as I come to realize in Jesus, I pass this test. He leaves the ninety-nine to save the one. He'll chase after you. He is your first true love. So, come home, my child, and live in his light. After all, it's where you are happiest, right?

A very well written Christian poem about our sojourn on Earth !
Times of blessing and times of testing, whether young or old, they are there !
Jesus the keeper of our soul.
